Luminox 3580.EY "Seal"

The Luminox 3581.ey was released in 2018 as part of the 3580-series of chronographs by Luminox. The stand-out feature of this watch is the US Navy Seals mantra displayed proudly on the dial, more on this below.
This is a special timepiece for me, I wear it when I need motivation; it speaks to me to keep pushing ahead. After owning this watch for a couple of months, I chose to upgrade from mineral to a 3mm thick sapphire crystal. This modification sacrifices a few grams of weight, but that’s easily made up for with enhanced clarity and scratch resistance. |

The final piece for this build was a bracelet made from Luminox's propitiatory carbon fiber mix (Carbonox). This proved a little difficult to source as the models this came on are often 23mm lugs, whereas the 3581.ey is 24mm. Furthermore it was never offered on this particular watch.
The Watch of the Navy Seals
According to various sources, Luminox has been the choice of watch for many of the elite US Navy Seals for many years since the release of the original 3000 "Navy Seal" series. The 3581 is the first to boldly display both the US Navy Seals shield on the caseback and the mantra on the dial, the meaning of which is described well on the Luminox website as follows:

The End Result
A couple of slight modifications and this timepiece is transformed..! A highly transparent sapphire crystal give immense clarity to the watch dial, subdials and the Navy Seals mantra text. The Carbonox bracelet should really have been an option on this model; it fits the aesthetic so well & is exactly the same material as the case.
